Cove Rangers FC reached the summit of League One after match day 15 and never gave up that slot. Airdrieonians started the season bottom of the table after match day one, reached the summit of the league in match day 13 and gave up top slot to Cove Rangers in match day 15, chasing them the rest of the season. The lead in the league changed hands 6 times - Montrose started top first, Queen’s Park and Montrose swapped places 3 times before Queen’s park stayed there 8 match days, Airdrieonians were there for two match days before Cove Rangers were top for the last 20 match days.
At the other end of the table East Fife FC spent the most time at the bottom of the table spending 32 match days at the bottom, Peterhead spent one match day there and Airdrieonians were there after the first two match days.
It’s a magnificent achievement from Cove Rangers FC, who themselves have said that they are going to keep pushing on as much as they can.
Congratulations Cove Rangers FC. All the best in the last game of the season against East Fife FC at New Bayview and beyond in the SPFL Championship in season 2022-2023.
